Spherical Micelle Encapsulating Agents (NFPA 18A) Presented by Ron Lowrey from Hazard Control Technologies, Inc.
This presentation will cover the latest updates to the NFPA 18A Water Additives for Fire Control and Vapor Mitigation. In particular this presentation will cover Section 7.7 (Spherical Micelle Stability Test Protocol) which is a test standard for Encapsulator Agents. We will discuss the benefits provided by the Spherical Micelle for fire control and life safety.
Review of testing showing faster fire control and reduction in toxins when comparing the use of an Encapsulator Agent vs. plain water. The testing and use of Spherical Micelle Encapsulator Agents on the suppression of Lithium-ion battery fires as referenced in NFPA 18A Annex A 4.3. Review of the testing done for lithium-ion battery fire suppression including documentation and video of various testing done.
